From biomedical engineering to MAX project officer – Keshani’s journey

With a background in biomedical engineering in Sri Lanka but a desire to change her career direction, Keshani Wijewardhana took to the books in Queensland.
Studying a Masters in Project Management, Keshani’s course at Central Queensland University connected her with Australian Internships to internship to help her put theory into practice. This opportunity led her to MAX.
My internship extended for a period of 10 weeks as a Resource Development intern at MAX Solutions.” says Keshani.
“During my internship, I had the opportunity to develop new skills in areas such as IT, creativity, design, critical thinking, decision making and stress management. All of these are important skills to prepare a student for a workplace,” she says.
After seeing Keshani’s skills in action throughout, our training team offered her a position at the completion of the internship.
Keshani is now working part-time as a Project Officer within our RTO (0667).
Her role allows her to continue to grow her skills and apply her knowledge within the project management space. Her expertise across multiple disciplines and qualifications makes her a valuable addition to our team.
“It is a privilege to have been offered employment at MAX so soon after my internship. MAX Solutions has encouraged me to pursue my dreams,” says Keshani.
“The successful completion of my internship lies in the guidance I have received from my work colleagues. Working in a multicultural work environment, help was always available from my colleagues for me to discover my strengths,” she says.
