MAX Employment to deliver jobactive contract to reduce unemployment

The Australian Government today announced MAX Employment has been awarded the five year ‘jobactive’ contract to promote stronger workforce participation and support Australian job seekers to move from welfare to work.

MAX Employment Managing Director Deborah Homewood said she was thrilled with this opportunity which creates stronger links between employers, job seekers and community providers.

“Under the new system unemployed Australians will benefit from an innovative and integrated service delivery approach as they transition into employment.”

Ms Homewood said MAX Employment will work closely with employers and job seekers throughout their journey, bringing together a team of professionals for sustained success.

“Our people are excited at the opportunity to create a better fit between job seekers and employers so that they are given the best chance of moving into meaningful employment.

“With our new world class operating environment MAX Employment will introduce new technology and applications to enhance the job seeker and employer experience,” she said.

Ms Homewood said the foundation of jobactive is its unprecedented focus on collaboration and improved connectivity.

“The industry is shifting towards creating outcomes that are sustainable, helping employers find the right people to grow their businesses, benefit their communities and the national economy. We are proud to be changing the lives of unemployed Australians,” she said.

MAX Employment operates in all states and territories across Australia in conjunction with our national partner yourtown who will be providing specialist youth employment services.

In selected regions we will be partnering with Indigenous and regional expert providers Rainbow Gateway and Sureway. MAX Employment will also work with national recruiter Manpower to boost access to job opportunities.

yourtown CEO Tracy Adams said this was consistent with yourtown’s mission and belief to provide specialised assistance for disadvantaged young people.

“The partnership with MAX Employment is an exciting development in pursuing our goal of supporting disadvantaged youth,” Ms Adams said.

“Youth unemployment is a barometer for the future health of our country and when young people can’t get a job, start their life and provide for themselves and others, a raft of other social problems follow,” she said.

The jobactive service is part of the Government’s significant investment over five years to reinvigorate employment services to help more job seekers into the workforce.

From July 1, 2015 jobactive services will commence and replace current Job Services Australia contracts.
