Marina Choros lands her first job in 20 years

When the MAX family join forces, superstars like Marina Choros shine!

Marina had worked in her home as a mum and as a carer for her own mother, but hadn’t worked in a paid capacity for over 20 years.

The MAX Wollongong team got behind Marina, and together her Placement Consultant Snezana Ljiljak, Health Services Officer Sharni McGee and SEE (Skills for Education and Employment) Trainer Susana Gomez provided mentoring, coaching, encouragement and advice and ultimately helping Marina land her first job in two decades.

Sharni helped Marina build her confidence around re-entering the workforce and provided interview techniques and coaching.

Susana helped Marni’s develop her English skills, giving her the confidence to prepare job applications and talk to potential employers.

Snezana secured Marina clothing for interviews and once Marina landed the job, provided in-work support, assisting with online inductions and training required for the job.

“The team from MAX all bent over backwards to get me into a job,” says Ms Choros.

“I’m enjoying being back at work - getting to meet new people and be in new surroundings,” she says.

“What an amazing result and fast progress for a deserving woman. It’s truly rewarding to work with such a cohesive and responsive team that put their heart and souls into their jobs and their customers. This is why I joined MAX,” says Marina’s trainer Ms Gomez.

Congratulations Marina and thanks to the MAX Wollongong team for showing us another example of what Every Person, Every Chance can look like!
