Young people to start in your business
PaTH stands for Prepare, Trial, Hire. Youth jobs PaTH program helps employers find young, talented candidates. Both employers and your potential employees are paid for connecting through the internship.
By having a supported period to try a new employee, you are able to see if the person is right for you and the job is right for them.

How it works

Financial support
Employers are financially supported for hosting an internship, receiving $1000 for offering a young person a work trial.
Trial period
The trial needs to last between 4 and 12 weeks, enough time to see if they fit in to the team and are suitable for ongoing employment.
Payment for employees
The employee receives $200 per fortnight through the program in place of wages and is covered by insurance through the Australian Government’s Department of Jobs and Small Business.
Further support
If you agree to hire your candidate, further financial support of up to $10,000 is available to you in order to support them as they start work.
